Subject. The article addresses the problems of economic analysis in ensuring the protection of the country's economy from threats, and their solutions. Objectives. The aim is to develop a theoretical and scientific approach to the study of cyclical, including nonlinear, processes in the mechanism for combating economic crime, and analytical tools for adapting to real economic processes of fundamental provisions on inextricable link between national security and socio-economic development of the country. Methods. The study employs integrated scientific analysis, using methods of macroeconomic analysis, financial and analytical search, analytical forecasting, and predictive analytics. Results. The study established that in conditions of widespread nature of economic offenses, the use of means for concealing and disguising illegal activities in the context of limited forces and capabilities of law enforcement agencies, analytical tools for detecting offenses, forecasting, and developing managerial decisions are of great importance. The aim of these tools is to depart from outdated forms and methods of activity of internal affairs bodies and shape an economic and analytical segment enhancing the effectiveness of the State’s economic security. Conclusions. The proposed approach enables to unlock the potential of analytical tools in meeting the challenges in the considered subject area, in accordance with the current requirements for the socio-economic development of the country, to clarify the definition of mechanism for countering economic offenses, and to show the directions of its development and transformation of the system of the economic security of the State into the analytical segment.
