This paper examines how India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has transformed financial inclusion in its rural economy. By looking at adoption rates, transaction patterns, and socio-economic outcomes, this study argues that UPI has effectively brought many unbanked and underbanked individuals into the formal financial system. The research combines quantitative analysis of secondary data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) with qualitative case studies of small merchants and individuals in selected rural areas. The findings show that UPI's low transaction costs, ease of use, and compatibility with basic smartphones help overcome major obstacles to financial access in rural areas, such as limited banking infrastructure and low digital literacy.
