Not only letters in Old Armenian, but also letters addressed to Russian and European scholars and prominent figures in foreign languages were considered within the framework of the study. This is the reason for the relevance of the article. 72 letters in total are valuable components of Kh. Abovyan's literary heritage as an author in Old Armenian. The article explores both personal and official letters of the writer, in which his excessive sincerity and directness are noticeable. Although many of the letters are written in foreign languages, they are nevertheless colorful and expressive testimonies of the creative path of the great enlightener. The epistle is also valuable in such a perspective that it reveals Abovyan's skills in word formation. Penetrating into the essence of words and demonstrating the ability to use words along with the speech purposefully, sometimes not being satisfied with the possibilities of literary language, the writer creates new words to make his thoughts more impressive. Moreover, the epistolary work reveals a new quality of the art of speech and narration. Through vivid images-descriptions of Abovyan, letters resemble works of art in their expressive depth.
