The article explores the conceptual foundations of architectural and planning solutions for new residential complexes in suburban areas. Special attention is paid to the analysis of international experience and its adaptation to national conditions. Modern design trends are considered, including ecological approaches, innovative technologies, and the creation of a comfortable living environment. The principles of rational land use, infrastructure optimization, and improvement of building energy efficiency are analyzed. Examples of successful international practices in suburban residential construction in European countries, the France are presented. The key planning principles that contribute to the creation of a functional and harmonious living environment are identified, and their adaptation to Ukraine's conditions is proposed, taking into account socio-economic, demographic, and environmental factors. The challenges faced by architects and urban planners in designing suburban residential complexes are outlined, including the development of engineering infrastructure, ensuring transport accessibility, and maintaining a balance between urbanization and natural landscape preservation. Recommendations for improving architectural and planning solutions to enhance the quality of residential development in suburban areas are proposed. The research results may be useful for architects, urbanists, city planners, and local government representatives involved in strategic housing development planning.
