The present work focussed on developing the Ultraviolet spectroscopic (UV) analytical method for analysis of Nebibolol Hydrochloride (NH) in bulk and formulation, used in the treatment of hypertension, heart attack, migraine and stroke. It is a beta blocker that works by slowing down the heart rate and makes heart more efficient pumping of blood within the body. The precise, convenient, simple, sensible and reproducible UV methods were developed, in solvents A, B 284.0 nm and 282.0 nm, respectively. ICH Q2B guidelines were followed to validate the method using parameters (Range, Linearity, Robustness, Precision, Ruggedness, Accuracy, Limit of detection (LOD) and Limit of quantification (LOQ), by using predefined calibration standards for the developed methods. Marketed formulation Toricard-5 tablets were used for method validation in each solvent A, B 99.84 & 98.82, respectively (n=6). In conclusion, the proposed method was successfully developed in chosen solvents and validated for the determination of NH in bulk and formulations.
