The abstracts present an analysis of personal sanctions as a key element of the global security and human rights system, used by international organizations and individual states to influence individuals who violate international law. They include asset freezing, financial transaction restrictions, and travel bans. Sanctions are actively used to deter aggression, combat terrorism, illicit arms proliferation, and human rights violations. Despite the difficulties in their implementation and possible negative economic consequences, they remain an important instrument of international legal influence, used, in particular, in response to Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
