The paper explores the interaction between professional and citizen journalism in the context of digitalization. Despite the lack of formal training, citizen journalism plays a significant role in documenting events, disseminating information, and shaping public opinion, especially during times of war. However, it also poses risks of spreading misinformation and manipulation due to the absence of ethical guidelines and fact-checking mechanisms. Professional journalism must maintain high standards while also adapting to the new information landscape. The work raises the issue of finding a model for the coexistence of both types of journalism and examines the role of media literacy in shaping a critically thinking audience.
