Anesthesia is an integral part of every surgical operation, however, it is necessary to remember the anesthetic risks during and after the operation. Laparoscopic surgical interventions in farm animals are performed under local anesthesia. This is due to the anatomical and physiological characteristics of this type of animal. We conducted research to identify possible anesthetic risks and develop protocols for anesthetic support to enable the use of the information provided by practicing veterinarians when performing surgical interventions. The article presents the results of studies using sedation in combination with local anesthesia, which reduces anxiety in the animal, as well as the risk of self-injury and injury to others, which has a beneficial effect on the performance of surgical intervention.
