Introduction: Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs occurring in or on the ovaries, commonly affecting women in their reproductive years. Though often asymptomatic, some cysts cause significant discomfort and menstrual irregularities. Ayurveda offers an alternative treatment approach, correlating ovarian cysts with Kaphaja Granthi, involving Vata-Kapha dominated Tridosha and Dushyas such as Rakta, Mamsa, and Meda. Aim/Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of Ayurvedic management in the treatment of a diagnosed para-ovarian cyst. Material and Method: A 21-year-old unmarried female presented at the Prasuti Tantra and Stri Roga OPD on 21/01/2025 with complaints of intermittent pelvic pain and menstrual irregularities for 6 months. She had been diagnosed with a right para-ovarian cyst (2x2 cm) via ultrasonography. Previous allopathic treatment with oral contraceptives was unsatisfactory due to side effects. Ayurvedic treatment was initiated comprising Saptasara Kashaya, Kanchanara Guggulu, and Ovoutoline FORTE (Zandu) for 3 months. The medications were selected based on their Vata-KaphaHara and Lekhana properties. Result: After 3 months of Ayurvedic therapy, the patient reported complete relief from pelvic pain and normalization of menstrual cycles. Follow-up USG confirmed the resolution of the para-ovarian cyst. No adverse effects were observed during or after the treatment. Discussion: This case highlights the effective and safe treatment of ovarian cysts through Ayurvedic management using classical formulations tailored to Dosha and Dushya, following holistic and individualized Ayurvedic principles.
