Abstract

The article is devoted to a brief description of the historiography of the countries adjacent to the territory of Belarus (Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Poland), where various aspects of glass containerware of the late 16th – early 20th centuries are considered. The stages of studying the issue in each of the countries are highlighted, attention is focused on the most significant historical and archaeological monographs and publications on the topic. It is proposed to distinguish two main stages: the 1st - mid - late 20th century, when the main works were devoted to various aspects of the history of glass production; the 2nd - 1990s - present, is characterized by the study of individual categories of glass artifacts from specific monuments. Problematic issues characteristic of each of the countries to the present day are sep-arately updated (lack of terminology and typology of glass container products, etc.).
