Capacity-building practices are evolving in response to global development challenges, technological change, and shifting donor and community priorities. This article examines emerging trends shaping the future of capacity building, including integrated and cross-sectoral approaches, locally led development, adaptive management, equity and inclusion, evidence-based practice, and technological innovation. Drawing on examples from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, the analysis highlights how these trends are redefining program design and implementation. It concludes that the future of capacity building lies in approaches that are holistic, inclusive, adaptive, and informed by rigorous evidence
