This paper has focused on how well the construction professionals in the study area have perfected Construction Project Management (CPM) practices as one of the determinants of the success of housing projects delivery. The PPM practices were quantified in terms of planning, scheduling, resource management, risk management, and cost management, whereas, the project delivery was quantified in terms of timeliness and costs. Regression analysis showed that CPM practices explained 37.5 percent variance in project delivery (R 2 = 0.375), which is a moderate influence. The most important findings were that resource planning and allocation (273), project planning (252), and risk management techniques (182) were very significant in project delivery, whereas cost estimation and budgeting (142) had a less significant effect. Surprisingly, scheduling (β = -0.505) had negative impact which was due to inefficient use of modern scheduling tools and use of traditional planning methods. The paper comes to the conclusion that resource management, proper planning, and proactive risk management are the keys to success of housing projects. It suggests that the construction professionals should receive more training, sophisticated project management technologies should be embraced, and policy encouragement to better practice of CPM should be implemented. Such actions would greatly enhance the results of housing projects and lead to the sustainable development of the construction industry in the research area.
