The aim of the article is to study the peculiarities of forming and managing supply chains for agricultural products based on a security-oriented approach in the context of wartime challenges. The authors pay special attention to the application of the key principles of this approach. By analyzing, systematizing, and summarizing the scientific works of many scholars, the evolution of the supply chain management (SCM) conception was examined, which allowed for the identification of key challenges and aspects of logistics development in the context of military aggression and substantiated the need for new management approaches focused on security and resilience. As a result of the study, a comprehensive impact of military actions on the functioning of supply chains for agricultural products was highlighted, manifested in changes to logistics routes, destruction of infrastructure, resource shortages, and increased risks. Significant transformations in Ukrainian agro-exports have been identified for the period of 2022–2025, including the consequences of the blockade of sea ports, the restoration of exports through the «grain initiative» and the «Ukrainian sea corridor», as well as the prospects and challenges related to the ongoing war (threats of shelling, staff shortages, relations with the EU, grain quality), digitization, and infrastructure investments. It is substantiated that traditional approaches to supply chain management, focused on cost optimization, are insufficiently efficient in wartime conditions. Instead, an authors’ vision of a «security-oriented approach» is proposed and substantiated as a comprehensive strategy that integrates the principles of security, resilience, reliability, and adaptability at every stage of the supply chain. The key principles of this approach are allocated as follows: prioritization of safety and continuity, proactive risk management, resilience, adaptability, collaboration and coordination, information security and transparency, technological integration, also the human factor and learning. A comparative characterization of security-oriented and traditional approaches based on the main criteria is presented. Prospects for further research in this direction include detailing the mechanisms of implementing individual principles of the security-oriented approach and their practical application in managing supply chains for agricultural products in crisis situations.
