Cybersecurity threats in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) control and networks are becoming increasingly significant as UAVs are employed in critical applications such as surveillance, disaster response, logistics, and military operations. These threats often target the communication, control, and data transmission layers, posing risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of UAV systems. This book chapter reviews the various intrusion detection techniques to be implemented as countermeasures to cyber threats in UAV control and communication networks. The advantages, limitations, and applications of these techniques are highlighted. The emerging areas for future research in threat detection are outlined. Various case studies of cybersecurity in UAV control and networks are presented. STRIDE Threat Modeling is discussed with pseudocode for cyber threat detection and needed intrusion detection techniques.
