In this paper, the vibration noise of the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is reduced using the anti-resonance method. The semi-analytical method is used to establish the propeller-shaft coupled system (PSCS), and the longitudinal vibration is considered. The propeller-shaft-hull coupled system (PSHCS), which incorporates nonlinear bearings and allows for the radial vibration, is modeled using the finite element (FE) method. A vibroacoustic system is modeled using a dipole sound source. The anti-resonance method is presented in explicit form and the corresponding anti-resonance frequencies are given in detail. Bifurcation and resonance regions within the system are observed. Notably, the anti-resonance method proves effective in significantly reducing both the vibration amplitude and noise at the resonance point, through the optimization of the number and position of anti-resonance devices. The findings presented in this study provide a comprehensive theoretical framework for mitigating the noise generated by AUVs.
