The centrifugal atomization process, a rapid solidification technique, offers high cooling rates and produces nearly perfect spherical powders advantageous for powder consolidation. This study focuses on the Fe89.41Si2.02B1.13P5.89C1.55 (wt%) alloy from the Fe-Si-B system, produced via centrifugal atomization. The alloy's amorphous fraction was evaluated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), while additional characterization was performed through optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results show that the alloy achieved up to 90% amorphous fraction for particle sizes inferior to 100 µm, with an estimated onset cooling rate of approximately 104 K|s. These findings underscore the potential of centrifugal atomization for high-performance amorphous powder production.
