The article examines the quality, systematicity, and effectiveness of legislation, which are components and manifestations of its effectiveness, taking into account modern trends in the development of legal science. The author analyzes the main approaches to solving the problem, citing the positions and theses of scientists, referring to the primary sources that form his own thoughts and conclusions. Special attention is paid to considering the quality of systematicity and effectiveness of legislation as important aspects and components of its effectiveness, which in turn plays a key role in the formation of modern ideas about doctrinal approaches and foundations in the science of the theory of state and law, jurisprudence in general. The results of the study demonstrate significant potential for the further development of scientific thought in this direction. The quality, systematicity, and effectiveness of legislation are components through which it is easy to understand, recognize, and even apply in practice (or evaluate a specific fact of application) such a complex phenomenon as the social effectiveness of legislation. And since laws (which in a connected and structured by scope and content set are legislation) are a source of law and contain its norms - through the quality, systematicity and effectiveness of legislation, one can comprehend such concepts as the effectiveness of law or certain legal relations. Therefore, these components of the social effectiveness of legislation, along with its factors, conditions, and manifestations, form a holistic expression and coverage of the effective action of legislation on society. Like the concept of «efficiency», the concepts of «quality», «systematicity», and «effectiveness» of legislation have as general features of these meanings, but also specific legal properties. The study is based on a comprehensive approach, which includes the analysis of theoretical sources by appropriate methods. The results obtained allow us to formulate specific conclusions that can be used both in scientific and practical activities. The author emphasizes the need for further research in this area, since the development of science and the academic discipline of the theory of state and law (jurisprudence, legal studies in particular) requires improving approaches, definitions and finding new solutions.
