However, the application of mathematics in economics has always been a controversial topic. Many believe that the degree of mathematical rigor in economic research has become a defining characteristic of the quality of research. In response to this trend towards mathematical rigor, it is essential to objectively understand the mathematization of economics. Although the application of mathematics has advanced the development of economics in some aspects, it has also led to significant problems. This article explores these perspectives, highlighting how mathematics limits the scope of economic research and ignores ethical considerations and a reflective spirit. Additionally, the article offers insights into how mathematics should be applied in economics.
