Abstract This study explores enhancing medical English classes through the web-based Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) to advance medical vocabulary development with 85 medical students at Zanjan University of Medical Sciences. Considering the crucial role that medical terminology plays in effective healthcare communication, COCA was used as a platform that may enrich vocabulary. Employing a single-group experimental design, data was gathered via a 16-item questionnaire adapted from Kocak (2020) to measure students' perceptions of the approach. The findings indicate that students basically held a positive view of COCA as a tool for enhancing vocabulary scope. The results may contribute to the expanding body of research on the integration of corpus-based methodologies into specialized language instruction, particularly within the realm of medical English. This study highlights the importance of understanding medical texts and proficient communication in medical contexts through furnishing future healthcare practitioners with essential language skills.
