In Vitro Delivery of Borocaptate Ions to U87 Glioma Cells via Silk Fibroin Nanoparticles for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy.
Key Points
Efficient boron uptake was achieved in U87 glioma cells, indicating potential for effective cancer treatment.
Boron neutron capture therapy feasibility was demonstrated with silk fibroin nanoparticles delivering borocaptate ions.
Silk fibroin nanoparticles can load significant amounts of boron, enhancing therapeutic options for glioma.
The approach may lead to innovative techniques in cancer treatment, particularly for glioma therapy.
Abstract
Silk fibroin nanoparticles can load high amounts of BSH. When treated in U87 cell lines, they show efficient boron uptake, demonstrating the feasibility of boron neutron capture therapy.
