This article offers a journey in the form of an investigation, which will take the reader across the boundaries separating the educational and scientific worlds. The object of this investigation is a quote from Dalcroze, referring to a “sixth sense” which would be “that of movement”. Going beyond the simple catchy formula is important, since this is the foundation of eurhythmics, from which stem several important focal points for its practice. This investigation will take us across some borders and will lead us into less familiar territories. And yet the facts and concepts we will discover will always be linked to the practice of eurhythmics. We are sure that the knowledge of appropriate and current terms contributes to the solidity of eurhythymics, allowing it to argue its unique educational approach. As we know, the more we are aware of what constitues its identity, the better we can open up to others and evolve without the risk of getting lost.
