The scientific article examines the issue of the normative consolidation of the concept of public authority, as well as the unified system of public authority in the current legislation of the Russian Federation. At the same time, it is noted that despite the significant development of the concept of public authority, there is no unity of approaches to its interpretation in the legal literature. The author concludes that a more detailed study is needed in the field of theoretical and methodological substantiation of the concept and essence of public power, taking into account the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, as well as changes in current legislation. In addition, according to the author, the theoretical concept of public authority should become the methodological basis for further development of legislation in the field of regulation of the mechanism of functioning of the unified system of public authority of the Russian Federation.
