From the History of Definition of the Creative Method of Vladimir Korotkevich the Prose Writer

The author of the article has analyzed the assessments and opinions of Belarusian critics and literary scholars regarding the artistic method of V. Karatkevich, which were formed during the 1960s – 2000s. An analysis of the scientists’ opinions made it possible to determine the features of the manifestation of romanticism, romantic pathos, the poetics of neoromanticism, as well as the culture of carnival laughter in the writer’s prose experience. The authenticity of historical realities and the skillful use of everyday specifics of certain eras motivated active discussions among supporters of V. Korotkevich’s views on realism as an artistic method inherent in his work.
