AbstractA field experiment was conducted at the Research Farm, PAU, Regional Research Station, Gurdaspur during kharif 2020 and rabi 2020-2021 in split-split plot design with three organic fertilizers in main plots, three nitrogen doses in sub plots and three nitrogen application stages in sub-sub plots. The various organic fertilizers and nitrogen doses had significant influence on quality parameters of basmati rice. Application of FYM resulted in highest values of hulling, milling and head rice recoveries. It was significantly similar to GM but different from control. Among the nitrogen doses, the 100% recommended nitrogen dose gave the highest values of the rice recoveries which were significantly different compared to 50% recommended nitrogen and control. The nitrogen application stages had no significant effect on hulling, milling and head rice recoveries. The highest values of N, P and K uptake in grains was observed with FYM application, which was at par with GM but significantly different from control. Among the nitrogen doses, the highest value of N content was observed with 100% recommended dose of nitrogen which was significantly higher than 50% recommended nitrogen and control. The various nitrogen doses had non-significant effect on uptake of P and K in grains.
