Motivation: Limited data are available on the prognostic value of RV function assessed by strain analysis in patients with HFpEF. Goal(s): To evaluate the associations between RV strain parameters derived from CMR-FT and adverse outcomes in patients with HFpEF. Approach: Patients with HFpEF were retrospectively enrolled from January 2010 to December 2018. The primary endpoint was all-cause mortality. Results: A total of 1019 consecutive patients were enrolled. During a median follow-up of 7.8 years, both RV global longitudinal and circumferential strain were independent predictors of the primary endpoint. The full model based on clinical, conventional imaging, and RV strain variables improved the model discrimination. Impact: Incorporating RV strain analysis derived from CMR-FT into the assessment of patients with HFpEF shows promise in improving risk stratification and prognostication beyond traditional risk markers.
