Motivation: Leveraging the benefits of 7T MRI, high spatial and temporal resolution Arterial Spin Labeling perfusion imaging has the potential to provide fine-grained structural and functional information of the brain. Goal(s): We aim to improve temporal resolution for perfusion imaging while maintaining iso-1mm resolution and whole-cerebrum coverage. Approach: We developed a novel 3D TFL-pCASL sequence combined with Golden-angle Stack-of-Spirals, dynamic compressed sensing, and high-performance gradient system on NextGen 7T. Results: The method enabled accurate measurement of laminar CBF profile, reduced motion artifact, and captured functional activation in motor and visual cortices with a temporal resolution as high as 14 seconds. Impact: This study presents high spatial and temporal resolution ASL perfusion imaging at 7T, providing motion-robust, fast, and fine-grained structural and functional information of the brain.
