The article conducted the study of the process of formation of economic competence of education applicants as a key component of professional and personal development of youth in the conditions of dynamic socio-economictransformations. The relevance of the formation of economic competence as an important component of modernization of the educational system aimed at training specialists capable of effectively functioning in the labor market and complying with the challenges of the modern economy is substantiated. The essence of economic competence as an integrative qualit of personality, which combines knowledge, practical skills, motivational attitudes, values and ability to make economically feasible decisions, is considered. The structural components of economic competence, including cognitive, practical, emotional and motivational components, as well as their relationship with the socio -cultural and pedagogical conditions ofthe educational process are determined. Particular attention is paid to the role of innovative pedagogical technologies, suchas business games, business symulation, methods of prose work that contribute to the activation of cognitive activity, the development of analytical thinking and the formation of professionally significant skills. The importance of aninterdisciplinary approach is considered, which allows to combine theoretical knowledge with practical competences, as well as the use of econometric modeling as a tool for the analysis of complex economic processes and justifying management decisions in the context of economic competence formation. The impact of the pedagogical system on the quality of education of education applicants, in particular its ability to adapt to innovative challenges and changes in the socio-environment, is analyzed. The value-motivatial dimension of economic competence through the prism of economic identity, which shapes personal attitude to economic norms and categories, reveals the need to integrate the content of economics.
