This article analyzes the methodological aspects of using tourist cartography and GIS technologies in the process of training future geography teachers. The analysis of the integrated use of geographic information resources in the study of geographical disciplines and tourism and recreation in the context of the formation of geographic competencies on the example of a number of geographic information resources is carried out. The main directions of using GIS technologies in the integration of geography and tourism and their practical significance are shown. Today, tourism is increasingly becoming a means of training geographers-educators and forming relevant professional geographical competencies. An important role in this process belongs to the practice and potential of using geographic information systems and tourist maps. At the same time, the main available geographic information resources can be used in an integrated manner both in the study of geographical disciplines and tourism and recreation. It is necessary to pay more attention to the study of the importance of the integrated use of geographic information resources in the study of geographical disciplines and tourism and recreation. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to analyze the methodological aspects of using tourist cartography and GIS technologies in the process of training future geography teachers. Students of different geographical specializations and tourism have both common basic skills in geoinformatics and specific skills that correspond to their specialized activities. The study of these differences is important for understanding the peculiarities of training in different specializations. The formation of students' geoinformation competencies largely depends on the content of GIS disciplines that provide the necessary training in this area. Among the geographic information systems and Internet resources that can be actively used in geography and tourism, it is worth mentioning open GIS: Quantum GIS (QGIS), GRASS, gvSIG, SAGA, as well as special software applications and online resources such as Giovanni, MODIS, ArcGIS, World Mapper, UA Maps, etc. The potential of using such resources as GeoGuessr, Sheppard Software, and Google Earth for tourism development and modeling of geographical and tourist objects should be noted separately. Methods and approaches for the integrated formation of competencies in the use of geographic information systems in the educational process in geography and tourism include the organization of geographic and tourist games and exercises (local history and culture, virtual tourist trips, tourist presentation of the country, etc.); development of excursions and virtual travel routes, implementation of an interdisciplinary approach that combines the study of geography with other disciplines such as biology, ecology, history or mathematics, using GIS for deeper. The possibilities and effectiveness of using GIS technologies in teaching geography and tourism can be realized by developing individual lesson topics. In particular, this is a lesson with the tentative topic «Geography and Tourism», «Geography and Cultural Landscape». The main areas of such use are: development of tourist routes, drawing up tourist maps and maps of territories, participation in various projects related to the development and updating of interactive tourist maps and databases, development of virtual tours and 3D modeling, conducting local history and geographical research during hiking trips and in general in extracurricular activities, and introducing the use of GIS technologies in the performance of field practice tasks.
