Punch Needle Embroidery: Cultural Heritage and Modern Interpretations

The purpose of the work is to study carpet embroidery as an important component of cultural heritage, the study of its historical origins and importance in traditional culture, as well as the analysis of modern interpretations of this art in the context of preserving authenticity and adaptation to modern realities. The research methodology is to apply a number of approaches: analytical – to understand literature on the topic of the article; interdisciplinary, which made it possible to study the factual material comprehensively and obtain reasonable conclusions; systemic with the use of a whole range of methods (semiotic, cultural, historical, theoretical generalisation) – for the purpose of comprehensive comprehension of the declared topic. The scientific novelty of the article is the study of the unique art of carpet embroidery, which is considered as an important element of Ukraine’s cultural heritage. Conclusions. The author analyses the importance of carpet embroidery as an element of national cultural heritage. It is noted that this type of art not only reflects the traditional aesthetic and symbolic aspects, but also contributes to the preservation of identity and the transmission of cultural values between generations. The active influence of current trends on the reinterpretation of traditional motives is also emphasised, enabling you to adapt carpet embroidery to contemporary needs while maintaining its authenticity. The need to support the masters and popularise this art in the context of globalisation and changes in cultural space is emphasised, ensuring its relevance in the modern world.
