The article is devoted to the study of one of the most relevant economic trends: digital platforms. The author raises the question of the possibility of creating a platform economy in interstate associations of which Russia is a member (using the example of BRICS) for commodity trade, which can help minimize dependence on Western trading systems and create new channels to stimulate investment, infrastructure development and economic diversification. In order to get rid of the hegemony of global financial institutions and the dominance of Western "toxic" currencies, the author suggests implementing its own regional digital currency into the BRICS marketplace (digital platform), which helps reduce transaction costs, minimize the risks of currency volatility and accelerate settlements. The article identifies several blocks (areas) of tasks, the solution of which will allow the creation of a regional BRICS digital currency for the digital platform: the tasks of the economic block (development of a financial model and currency stability, integration with existing financial systems, reduction of transaction costs through technology), the task of the political and diplomatic block, the tasks of the technological block and the tasks of the legal block (development, harmonization and unification of the regulatory framework, data protection and cybersecurity, countering money laundering, proceeds from crime, financing of terrorism and financing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction).
