The problem of preserving cultural heritage in the context of globalization and socio-economic transformations includes the need to use various means for its digitalization. Thanks to modern methods (laser scanning, pho-togrammetry, the use of artificial intelligence, blockchain metadata and cloud storage), the processes of pre-serving, popularizing and accessing cultural heritage objects are being improved. The article provides a defini-tion of digital heritage, shows the need to use various elements of digitalization, and considers the most popu-lar methods of effective data processing, analysis and archiving. A number of ethical dilemmas associated with the digitalization of the objects in question and the availability of information are listed. Along with this, the im-portance of an interdisciplinary approach, international standardization and ethical standards for sustainable development in the field of preserving cultural heritage through digitalization is emphasized.
