This article presents a high step-up DC-DC converter based on a three-winding coupled inductor (3WCI). Integrating the 3WCI with voltage multiplier cells (VMCs) enhances the voltage conversion ratio without increasing component count, leading to improved gain-to-element (G2E) ratios. The proposed converter achieves high voltage gains while maintaining low voltage stress on active and passive components, has a compact footprint, and is highly efficient. The article discusses operational modes, steady-state performance, loss analyses and design processes and compares it to other circuits. A 240W, 22 V/240 V prototype was fabricated, with experimental results confirming the converter's operation and performance, demonstrating a high voltage gain with just 10 components. The proposed topology excels in the G2E ratio, and tests show the maximum voltage stress on devices is reduced by up to 60% of the output voltage. The practical efficiency at full load is measured at 96.2%.
