The purpose of the study is to define and justify the criteria and parameters for the formation of Russian civil identity within the framework of school life structure. Research methods and organization. A theoretical and methodological analysis has been conducted aimed at defining the terminological framework, identifying existing approaches and concepts related to the criteria and indicators for the formation of Russian civil identity within the context of the school environment. Research results and conclusions. The study revealed that the criteria for the formation of Russian civic identity among schoolchildren consist of elements of the functional structure of this phenomenon: the cognitive-meaning component (the acquisition and acceptance by students of traditional Russian civic values); the emotional-value component (the development of experiences of emotions and positive attitudes towards legendary heroes, objects of civic memory, and symbolic places of their hometown); and the activity component (the acquisition of experience in independent social activity through examples of the embodiment of Russian civil traditions).
