Abstract

In July 2019, a trial excavation was conducted on Avne Ha- H oshen Street in ‘Akko, north of Tel ‘Akko (Permit No. A-8567; map ref. 208398–429/759150–239; Fig. 1), prior to construction. The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the ‘Akko municipality, was directed by A. Abu Hamid (field photography), with the assistance of H. Aboud-Abu ‘Uqsa and J.A. Sánchez Streger (preliminary probes), Y. Yaakobi (administration), D. Syon (metal detection), M. Kahan (surveying and drafting), K. Covello-Paran (scientific guidance), Y. Gorin-Rosen (glass), H. Tahan-Rosen (pottery and glass drawing) and D.T. Ariel (numismatics and stamped handles).
