This Teaching Paper presents four representative ethical dilemma scenarios faced by nonprofits—fund allocation, volunteer bias, controversial donations, and cultural sensitivity—and matches them with practical decision-making tools. Structured approaches such as rational models, checklists, ethics committees, and training programs help organizations balance competing priorities while maintaining accountability and trust. A case study from a community health NGO illustrates how combining scenarios with tools strengthens ethical resilience in practice.
