Introduction: The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into dentistry is redefining clinical practice by improving diagnostic precision and optimizing treatment outcomes. However, its integration depends on the awareness and attitudes of dental professionals. Aim: This study evaluated the perceptions of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students, as well as practicing dentists in South India, regarding AI in dentistry. Methodology: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 307 participants, including dental students and practitioners. Data were collected through an online questionnaire covering demographics, AI, perceptions, attitudes, and concerns. Results: Among participants, 35.2% were aware of AI in dentistry. While 85.6% supported AI in daily life, 69.9% had not participated in AI-related programs. Key advantages included overcoming time and space constraints (41.1%), whereas concerns focused on flexibility and managing unexpected situations. About 54% preferred consulting other dentists over AI in case of disagreement, and 36.5% feared job displacement. Conclusion: Awareness of AI in dentistry is moderate, with mixed perceptions. The findings highlight the need for focused educational programs to address existing concerns and support the successful integration of AI into dental practice.
