As part of scientific research and participation in the international academic exchange program Erasmus+ Staff Teaching, the literary works of modern and classical Polish poets and writers were analyzed from the perspective of the use of phraseological units in their work, as well as their impact on the study of Polish as a foreign language. The relevance of the research lies in revealing the impact of phraseological units on the study of foreign languages, in particular the Polish language. The chronological framework covers the analysis of the works of Polish writers of the late 16th – early 21st centuries. Consideration of this issue led to the use of the following research methods, among which the method of theoretical, combined with practical, analysis made it possible to establish the ways of using Polish idioms in literary works and their impact on the study of foreign languages, while the syntactic- semantic method of analyzing the texts of Polish writers indicated the importance of the use of phraseological units not only in the works of classics, but also in modern Polish literature. Scientific novelty. For the first time, the influence of phraseological units used in the works of Polish poets and writers on the study of Polish as a foreign language has been analyzed. Conclusions. The analysis clearly indicates the positive influence, especially of modern poets and writers, on the study of foreign languages through reading foreign literary works and phraseological units in particular, which significantly expand the practical use of the vocabulary of students and pupils of Ukrainian educational institutions
