Introduction. In the context of the increasing global importance of the Chinese language, the development of effective teaching methods for younger schoolchildren is becoming particularly relevant. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the game design methodology in teaching Chinese to primary school children. Materials and Methods. The analysis of the cognitive and linguodidactic advantages of gaming methods, including the development of tonal perception, visual-spatial thinking and metalinguistic awareness, is carried out. The study used an integrated approach, including experimental learning using game design, a questionnaire to assess motivation, as well as a qualitative analysis of game projects created by students. Results. The results of an experimental study using educational games, project activities, and digital tools are presented. The developed methodology has proven its effectiveness in increasing students' motivation and academic performance when learning Chinese. The expediency of introducing this methodology into the practice of language education is substantiated. Discussion and Conclusion. The game design methodology has proven its effectiveness as an innovative approach to teaching Chinese in elementary school, combining the development of language skills with the formation of metacognitive and social competencies. The author's conclusions contribute to the development of active methods of teaching Chinese to younger schoolchildren.
