The era of artificial intelligence has transformed the role of the teacher and opened new horizons in the field of education. This article examined the key challenges and opportunities faced by future educators. It also presented examples of how artificial intelligence has been integrated into educational processes, the findings of studies on the impact of technologies on pedagogical practice, historical aspects of technological development in education, an analysis of the results of a teacher survey, and recommendations for the implementation of AI in educational institutions. As part of the study, a survey was conducted among 207 teachers in Kyrgyzstan to assess their experience with and attitudes towards the use of artificial intelligence tools. The results showed that 67% of teachers actively used such tools in their practice, while 76% were willing to further develop their expertise in this area. The study emphasised the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and student engagement. At the same time, it identified significant barriers such as the lack of access to education and digital inequality, which are particularly relevant in rural areas. These issues highlight the need for teacher training programmes, ethical use of technology, and equitable access to digital resources. The study illustrated the evolving demands placed on educational institutions in response to technological shifts in teaching and learning practices. The findings offer key insights for practitioners and policymakers in the education sector. They also provide a foundation for updating educational programmes and improving digital literacy
