The paper studies some teaching activities organized based on the use of proverbs in practical French language classes in IPES. Didactic activities based on proverbs are carried out for the most diverse purposes: improving reading techniques, assimilating new vocabulary and consolidating the known, explaining certain specific grammatical structures and specialized texts, developing communicative skills, developing students' critical thinking, etc. Proverbs present invaluable educational material in terms of developing students' communication skills, in the form of comments, discussions, conversations, essays aimed at students' fluent communication in spontaneous situations. In addition to the wide range of proverb-based activities and their enormous formative potential, a very important motivational factor must also be mentioned, namely the fact that students highly appreciate these activities.
