Abstract Indigenous woven textiles are a vital embodiment of local wisdom, cultural traditions, and community identity. Preserving and revitalizing such heritage through contemporary design practices not only safeguards intangible cultural assets but also fosters sustainable economic development. This research investigates the traditional textiles of Khiri Wongkot Village in Udon Thani Province, Thailand, with the aim of transforming their unique patterns into contemporary fashion prototypes. The study pursues requires to examine the historical and cultural context, including arts, traditions, and the local lifestyle and to identify distinctive cultural motifs and translate them into innovative pattern designs for modern fashion applications. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates qualitative methods—such as in-depth interviews, field observation, and documentary analysis—with quantitative techniques through a satisfaction survey of 50 participants. Descriptive statistics, including mean scores and standard deviations, were used to evaluate the outcomes. The findings indicate that the traditional textile motifs of Khiri Wongkot possess both aesthetic and symbolic significance. Five original patterns were developed and applied to five contemporary costume designs. The satisfaction assessment revealed a consistently high level of approval across all criteria, particularly in aesthetic appeal, color harmony, and cultural authenticity. This study underscores the potential of indigenous cultural resources as a foundation for creative design innovation, offering a replicable model for cultural product development that enhances local identity, supports livelihood creation, and contributes to sustainable community development.
