The Total Physical Response (TPR) has been used as a second language teaching approach for many years, mainly in the English education of immigrant children in the United States at the beginning, and then it was introduced to China after the 20th century. In the early days, it was basically used in primary schools, but later more and more teachers in the field of elementary education began to pay attention to it and tried it gradually. This paper describes the relevant studies of the whole-body response method at home and abroad, and evaluates its ad-vantages and disadvantages as well as some of the authors’ thoughts.
