Context and relevance. Nowadays, a school psychologist is becoming an integral part of the educational system, providing psychological support and guidance to children, parents and teachers. The article examines the role and features of the image of a teacher-psychologist in the education system of the city of Moscow; and also analyzes regulatory documents of the federal and regional levels, reflecting the activities of a teacher-psychologist in the education system and emphasizing the need to increase the level of confidence of participants in the educational process in the work of a teacher-psychologist. Objective. To identify criteria that contribute to increasing confidence in the educational psychologist on the part of participants in educational relations. Hypothesis. The image of a teacher-psychologist that inspires confidence among participants in educational relations will include criteria related to both the professional and personal characteristics of the specialist. Methods and materials. The survey involved 637 respondents (349 parents and 288 teachers from Moscow schools). The criteria that increase confidence in a teacher-psychologist were determined using a survey specially developed for this purpose. Results. The results showed that among the key aspects of assessing the professional competencies of educational psychologists, parents and teachers noted a number of professionally significant, in their opinion, qualities and personal characteristics. In addition, respondents assessed the appearance of a school psychologist, which, in their opinion, is important in establishing confidential relationships. Conclusions. Based on the results of a survey conducted among parents and teachers and an analysis of data from information systems, it was determined that the majority of educational psychologists in the Moscow education system have a high level of professional and personal competencies and are able to win over and inspire confidence among various participants in educational relations.
