Abstract

Abstract The trend toward more mechanization in the woods has recently taken a dramatic upward turn, and there is some concern that the new and bigger machines may compromise the practice of silviculture. In this paper it is argued that silviculture must be flexible. It can and should be modified to accommodate this new influence.
