The article describes a study aimed at studying the problem of using fiction as a means of developing moral qualities of a person in the senior preschool age. The article examines the peculiarities of the development of moral qualities of personality in preschool age, reveals the role of fiction in the development of moral qualities of personality of preschool children, analyzes the pedagogical conditions of the use of fiction in the development of moral qualities of personality of older preschool children, from the point of view of researchers of this problem. The article describes three stages of the study. In the course of the conducted pedagogical experiment, the initial level of development of moral qualities of older preschoolers is determined and described, and a comparative analysis of the results of two groups is carried out: experimental and control. The formative stage is described, during which a set of measures is being developed and implemented to develop the moral qualities of older preschool children through fiction. The control stage of the experiment involved identifying the dynamics in the development of the moral qualities of the personality of the control and experimental groups after the implementation of the developed classes. Based on the results of the conducted research, the data was analyzed. The article substantiates the effectiveness of the use of fiction in the development of moral qualities of older preschool children through fiction recommended in the list for this age, but not stated in the program implemented in a preschool educational organization.
