Earthquakes are among the most damaging natural disasters, since they are responsible for a significant amount of property damage and fatalities. Studies have demonstrated the ineffectiveness of traditional disaster management techniques in properly anticipating earthquake damage or reducing its extent. By using the Internet of Things (IoT), which is a system of connected devices that share data instantly, we can greatly enhance how we manage earthquakes, monitor building safety, and use GPS and mobile devices, leading to early warnings, real-time alerts, and better decisions during emergencies. This paper investigates the potential use of the IoT in earthquake mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Within the context of post-disaster response, early warning systems, and seismic monitoring, it discusses the operational and technological aspects of the IoT. Additionally, we discuss the limits and potential future applications of IoT integration in disaster management, emphasizing the importance of scalability, data security, and seamless integration capabilities.
