Because of a change in lifestyle, poor eating habits, and stress, the prevalence of metabolic illnesses is rising daily. As a result, people have to deal with a variety of issues, including metabolic and hormonal imbalances that can lead to obesity, diabetes, and thyroid disorders. Hypothyroidism is one of them. Prevalence and incidence: 42 million individuals in India have thyroid problems, the majority of whom have hypothyroidism. We cannot discover a one-to-one correlation with a single disease in Ayurvedic classics. This study was primarily intended to establish the appropriate correlation between thyroid disorders, specifically hypothyroidism, and Ayurvedic Concepts. After reviewing various Ayurvedic classics, modern literature, and previous research works, we can say that the functions of thyroid hormones are equivalent to the tasks of Agni, which are described in Ayurvedic texts. Hypothyroidism is primarily characterised by Agnimandya janita Dhatupradoshaja Vikara, especially Rasapradoshaja Vikara.
