The purpose of this study is to develop a Jepin Tali Bui dance textbook as an effort to preserve culture through art learning in schools. Educational strategies are needed to maintain the existence of traditional arts, namely through the preparation of textbooks. Contributions and attention are needed from educational institutions that study the field of art education to develop products in order to preserve local culture so that it does not disappear/extinct. This study uses a research and development method by modifying the Borg and Gall model in terms of adjusting the time and place of the study, namely with the stages of collecting information, compiling initial products, expert evaluations, large group trials, product revisions, small group trials, revisions and final products. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews with art practitioners and teachers, and validation tests of textbooks. The research instruments included validation questionnaires from material experts, media experts, and field trials with students and teachers. The results of the study showed that the Jepin Tali Bui dance textbook had met the eligibility criteria in terms of content, design, and effectiveness in learning. Trials in schools showed that this book could improve students' understanding of the Jepin Tali Bui dance and raise awareness of the importance of preserving local culture. This textbook can be an effective learning medium in supporting cultural sustainability in schools.
