The University's Role in Consolidating Citizenship Values and Promoting Student Communication from a Faculty Perspective at Al-Marqab and Al-Libda Major Private Universities

The study aimed to investigate the role of the university in instilling citizenship values and enhancing communication among students from the perspective of faculty members at Al-Murqab University and Al-Labda Al-Kubra Private University. The researcher employed a descriptive-analytical method and used a questionnaire consisting of 29 items distributed across two axes—developed by the researcher—administered to a convenience sample of 124 faculty members from both universities. The results indicated that the overall role of the university in instilling citizenship values and promoting communication among students scored a mean of 3.25 out of 5, rated as (average). At the axis level, the role in instilling citizenship values scored a mean of 3.41 out of 5, considered (high), while the dimensions of this axis were ranked as follows: 1- Political participation (3.44), 2- Justice (3.43), 3- Acceptance of others (3.42), all rated (high), and finally tolerance (3.31), rated (average). Regarding the communication enhancement axis, the university’s role scored 3.09, rated (average). The results also showed statistically significant differences at (α≤0.05) in favor of Al-Labda Al-Kubra Private University. Based on the findings, the study recommended including mandatory citizenship courses, training faculty members, and supporting student activities that promote dialogue. Suggestions for future research on the topic were also provided.///هدف البحث إلى استقصاء دور الجامعة في ترسيخ قيم المواطنة وتعزيز التواصل بين الطلبة من وجهة نظر هيئة التدريس بجامعتي المرقب ولبدة الكبرى الأهلية، واستخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واستبانة من (29) عبارة موزعة على محورين- من إعداد الباحثة- تم توزيعها على عينة متيسرة بلغت (124) عضو هيئة تدريس بالجامعتين، وأظهرت النتائج أن دور الجامعة في ترسيخ قيم المواطنة وتعزيز التواصل بين الطلبة جاء بمتوسط كلي (3.25 من5) وبتقدير (متوسط)، أما على مستوى المحورين فجاء دور الجامعة في ترسيخ قيم المواطنة بمتوسط (3.41 من5)، أي بدرجة (كبيرة) أما أبعاد المحور؛ فجاءت متوسطاتها مرتبة: 1-المشاركة السياسية (3.44)، 2-العدل (3.43)، 3-قبول الآخر (3.42)، وجميعها بتقدير (كبيرة). وأخيرا التسامح (3.31)، وبدرجة (متوسطة)، فيما جاء دور الجامعة في محور تعزيز التواصل (3.09)، وبدرجة (متوسطة)، كما بينت النتائج وجود فروق عند مستوى (α≤0.05) تبعاً لمتغير الجامعة لصالح لبدة الكبرى الأهلية. بناء على النتائج أوصت الدراسة بتضمين مساقات إجبارية للمواطنة، مع تدريب أعضاء هيئة التدريس، ودعم الأنشطة الطلابية التي تُعزّز الحوار. كما قدمت مقترحات بدراسات مستقبلية في الموضوع.
