The article reveals the essence of the economic security of the national economy as a key prerequisite for its sustainable development, effective functioning of economic systems and ensuring social stability of society. The multidimensionality of this phenomenon is determined, which includes financial, investment, innovation, energy, social, information and cybernetic, environmental, defense, institutional and scientific and technological components. Modern challenges are analyzed, including globalization processes, geopolitical risks, military threats and internal economic instability, which require a comprehensive approach to the formation of an economic security system. Particular attention is paid to the energy, information and cybernetic and defense components that determine the viability of the economy in the war and post-war periods. It is shown that economic security in the strategic dimension goes beyond the function of protection and acquires a character that guarantees development, ensuring the modernization of the national economy, the preservation of human capital, integration into the world economic space and strengthening the international image of the state. The economic security of the national economy is not limited only to the function of protection against external and internal threats, but becomes an active tool for the formation of competitive advantages of the state. It integrates financial, production, energy, social and defense resources into a single system capable of ensuring sustainable growth even in crisis conditions. That is why economic security should be considered as a strategic priority of state policy, which determines the prospects for modernization of the economy, increasing its innovativeness and efficiency, and also creates a foundation for the sustainable development of society in the war, post-war and integration periods.
